Joint report of the two European authorities, cover date December 2025, full year 2024. Liechtenstein is excluded throughout, the Netherlands is excluded for direct debits and Bulgaria for the second half of 2024 credit transfers. No significance statistic, standard error or confidence interval appears anywhere in the report, confirmed on four separate reads.
Card payments produce the highest fraud rate at 0.033 per cent of value and the most incidents at 17.1 million. Credit transfers produce the largest euro loss on the lowest rate, because the transfers themselves are so large.
