Weekly trading value by investor type on the premier Tokyo market, week of 7 to 11 September 2026. Total two way value that week was 95.58 trillion yen, of which members trading for their own account were 11.5 per cent and customer business 88.5 per cent. The monthly series for August 2026 reconciles: foreigners were 60.02 per cent of total sales and 59.60 per cent of total purchases.

The widely quoted foreign share of Tokyo trading is the share of the customer subtotal, not of total market turnover. Adding the eleven per cent traded by members for their own account brings the foreign share of all turnover to about 60.
