The euro settlement system reported 99.8 per cent availability in 2025, which is seventeen and a half hours of downtime
| År | Reported availability | Derived downtime on a calendar year | Incidents |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 99.8 per cent | 1,051.2 minutes, 17.52 hours | 43, two of major impact |
| 2024 | 99.97 per cent | 157.68 minutes, 2.63 hours | not published, only described as halved against 2023 |
| 2023 | 100 per cent | none implied | 84 |
| 2022 | 100 per cent | none implied | zero that suspended settlement, with the interbank cut-off delayed on 13 occasions |
| 2021 | 100 per cent on the predecessor platform | none implied | not read |
| 2020 | 99.46 per cent | 2,838.24 minutes, 47.30 hours | five major incidents reviewed |
The downtime column is our own arithmetic on a 525,600 minute calendar year. The central bank publishes no denominator for its availability percentages, so for the daytime platforms these are upper bound illustrations rather than measured outage time. For the round the clock instant payment service the same arithmetic is exact.
Availability figures are published to one decimal place, which hides a lot. Reported at 99.8 per cent in 2025 and 100 per cent in 2023 and 2022, the system had 43 incidents last year and a ten hour outage in February 2025.
