The 2013 bar is dominated by a single month, November 2013, which closed at 1119.52 against 202.52 at the end of October.

Realised volatility is the standard deviation of returns scaled to a year. Bitcoin ran 35.05 per cent over the ninety days to August 2026 and ether 49.80, against 5.53 for the euro. Crypto volatility has fallen by half since 2013.
