European prospectus approvals fell 72.5 per cent between 2007 and 2024, and three member states now account for half of what is left
Prospectuses approved across the thirty state economic area, census data from the markets authority's own market reports. The 2025 edition carries the full series from 2007 to 2024 and the 2024 edition gives an identical series to 2023. No significance statistic accompanies any figure. Note that the collapse is front loaded: 2007 to 2010 accounts for 5,033 of the 6,434 total fall, derived.
Approvals went from 8,875 in 2007 to 2,441 in 2024, with the decline almost entirely complete by 2010. Equity accounts for 414 of the 2024 total and non equity for 1,996, which is 82 per cent.
