From the regulator's staff research note of December 2015, on which the Commission expressed no view. Mean interval between repeat pauses was about four minutes and fourteen seconds, and 26 per cent of those intervals were the fifteen second minimum. 642 securities entered 5,551 limit states and 73 per cent of those securities eventually paused.
On 24 August 2015 there were 1,278 trading pauses in 471 securities, 83 per cent of them exchange traded products. One exchange applied reopening price collars and 13 per cent of its auctions priced far from the pre halt quote, against 54 per cent elsewhere.
