| CAC 40, 2025 | 53% | Share of turnover on the regulated market, up from 36% in 2018 |
| CAC 40, 2025, all venues | About one third | Share of total CAC 40 turnover across all execution venues |
| EU-wide, 2025 | 19.3% | Closing auctions and trade-at-close as a share of all EEA turnover, up from 18% in 2022 |
| STOXX 600, 2021 to 2022 | About 84% | Share of closing-mechanism volume, not of the trading day. A different quantity entirely. |
Published closing auction shares for European equities. Every figure is correct and almost none is comparable to any other, because the denominators differ. The 84% figure in particular is a share of volume traded at the close by any mechanism, not a share of the day.
The closing auction was about 3% of daily volume on European blue chips in 2002. By 2025 it was 53% of CAC 40 turnover on the regulated market. No European price impact or reversal estimate with a published significance test was located.
